Submission Guidelines
You must be registered to attend the Canadian Urban Music Conference otherwise your submission will automatically be dismissed. You will be asked to confirm your registration by providing the last 4 digits of the credit/debit card information that you used to register. Once registered you will be eligible to submit your music for consideration. You may apply for one or more of the following features: Song Feedback Sessions, Music Video Sessions, Producers Showcase, Artists Showcase, and/or DJ Mix Off. Our music editors will be diligently narrowing down all submissions. You will receive an email from our music editors confirming receipt of your email and further instructions. Successful candidates will be notified with instructions 14 days prior to the event. Notification will be made by email or phone.
SONG FEEDBACK SESSIONS:
These sessions will take place at the TIFF BEll Lightbox. You must be registered to attend the Canadian Urban Music Conference.- Submissions should be no longer than 90 seconds.
- Only submit one track, any more than one will be dismissed.
- On the day of the conference you may be able to showcase more than one track at the request of the panelists, so please bring your music on a CD.
- Songwriters – Submit one track including first verse, chorus/hook.
- Producers – Submit one track instrumental only.

- You are expected to be in attendance to discuss your submission if selected. If you are not in attendance your song may not be reviewed.
DJ MIX-OFF:
These evening showcases will take place at a music venue to be disclosed at a later time. DJs will need to register for the FEATURED EVENTS PASS to take part in this event.- Submit your mix up from 20-30 minutes long and upload a link to your mix on the contact form on the Submissions Page.
- The track must showcase excellent beat matching skills, a mix you would be proud to demonstrate at a party.
- ALL urban genres are included.
- DJs will be judged on Beat Matching, Hosting and the ability to Rock The Crowd.

PRODUCER SHOWCASE:
These evening showcases will take place at a music venue to be disclosed at a later time. Producers will need to register for the FEATURED EVENTS PASS to take part in this event.- Submit two tracks, each should not be more than two minutes.
- Tracks should be instrumentals or instrumentals with chorus “hooks” in an Urban genre (for example Electronic, Dance, Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Jungle, Drum n’ Base and House).
- The Track submitted must be an original work created by you.
